EKOME at the 77th Cannes Film Festival

EKOME, as a constant supporter of the extroversion of Greek film makers and the elevation of the country to a leading world film friendly destination, will be present for yet another year at the Marché du Film of the 77th Festival de Cannes, which will be taking place from the 14th until the 25th of May.

President and CEO of EKOME Leonidas Christopoulos will be present at Cannes while representatives of EKOME will be at the national pavilion, co-organized by EKOME, the Greek Film Centre-GFC and the Thessaloniki Film Festival, in order to inform the public and professionals on all the comparative advantages which render Greece an ideal choice for the realization of audiovisual productions.

They will be showcasing the spectacular results of the Cash Rebate 40% and Tax Relief 30% incentives, the National Film Offices Network, as well as all the domestic and foreign productions which have been materialized in Greece.  

Greek productions and co-productions at Cannes

The 77th Cannes Film Festival will be featuring two films, which have been supported by the Greek Cash Rebate program and EKOME.

The first is “Kinds of kindness” by internationally renowned director, Yorgos Lanthimos, which participates in the Festival’s Competition section, and “Kyuka before summer’s end” by Kostis Charamountanis, which participates in Cannes ACID (Association for the Distribution of Independent Cinema) section, an action by the Distributors’ Association, dedicated to the discovery and promotion of independent cinema from all over the world.

In a particularly encouraging period for the development of Greek cinematography and audiovisual sector, EKOME is continuing its extroverted initiatives, aiming at establishing our country’s position on the world map of the audiovisual industry.
