During the 37th General Assembly on 6 November 2024 in Thessaloniki, coinciding with the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, SEE Cinema Network unveiled a total funding of €72,000 for its 2024 Funding Round candidates.
Leonidas Christopoulos, CEO of the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece welcomed the members, stating that the work carried out by the Network for the development and promotion of cinema in our region is a powerful source of cultural empowerment and diplomacy. “Equally important, through this partnership highlight the unique stories and talents of our region, bringing our cultural heritage closer to international audiences. It is encouraging to see the zeal and dedication with which you are working to enhance film production and networking”, Mr. Christopoulos said, and concluded by wishing everyone a creative and constructive assembly, which will lay the foundations for new initiatives and developments.
The selected projects were announced officially during the Agora Awards of the Festival. Each awarded project will receive 9000€ in funding for its development purposes. In a commitment to transparency and in line with European statistical recording standards, SEE Cinema Network also announces gender percentages in the latest financings, women’s participation stands at an impressive 43% of the total contributors, an increased percentage of 44% from last year.
